A permaculture demonstration, training, resource and research centre based in the hillside of East Nepal. This centre is an income generating social enterprise.
Food, energy and water secure, this home which cares for children whose parents are in prison also generates it’s own income. Designed, developed and funded by the Kamala Foundation for it’s partner Prisoner’s Assistance Nepal.
Sustainable, community-led women’s development project addressing both the ecological and economic challenges facing low-caste communities.
The first sustainable children’s home opened in 2010 caring for 10 children whose parents live in prison in partnership with Prisoner’s Assistance Nepal.
This group is engaged in permaculture design-based village development, utilizing local resources to build resilience and regenerate ecologies.
Himalayan Nurseries is a bio-resource company which produces high quality seeds, tree seedlings and other plant materials for use in sustainable agriculture, afforestation and ecological restoration. This is a social enterprise.
Indigenous Seed Saving
Seed saving programs are run in three different villages stewarding over 100 variety of grain, vegetable, fruit and herbal plant seeds.
Swami Gaon Women’s Group
The women’s group is working in their village to move towards being zero-waste through making and using eco-sanitary pads, their own shopping bags and educating others about the environmental impact of plastic.
This project focuses on developing, trialling and teaching farmers on the production and use of bio-fertilisers to improve plant and soil health and transition to regenerative agriculture.
